Progress has definitely moved forward this past week in terms of implementing and connecting many of the smaller moving parts that make uencounter.me unique. As of this weekend, we were not only able to move through the home page, but click through a whole process of interaction with the site from start to finish (at least on one of the three sections). What was particularly exciting was… it worked just the way we had envisioned! Our programming partner indicated that the other two parts were mostly a matter of formality since the basic code has been written for part one. Even more exciting, he claims we are on track! Our (self-imposed) deadline for development is June 30th; Beta testing in July; Live in Aug. On one hand, it feels like forever from now but I know the past few weeks have flown by – hate to be wishing time away but I am so excited to share the details!!

We’ve decided to redesign our home page, or at least make an alternate and get some feedback… after all the designing and programming and expansion of ideas… the home page does not seem to fit anymore – at least not to me. We are engaging the expertise of a great graphic designer who has some ideas that sound intriguing and modern – more to look forward to.

I’d like to remind each reader that only our blog subscribers will be invited to participate in the Beta testing. Based on the site stats, we get a ton of readers right after a new posting but still have relatively few subscribers. Thanks so much to those of you who have subscribed and reposted via facebook. Thanks especially to the readers who shared the link with people from other states where we are looking for coverage. We still need readers (Beta testers) in Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Nebraska, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico, Louisiana, and Tennessee. If you know anyone in these states, please send them a link and a personal message to read and subscribe!  Two weeks and a day or two – we will be sending private invitations to test for us.  The countdown has begun!

What our lovely readers have said about it:

Can’t wait to see the final product. With all the expertise, it should be a winner! Sorry I do not know anyone in those states. Looking forward to the beta testing. Have been involved in testing when I worked for DPL and we instituted a new system. It’s such a rewarding feeling when it all comes together just like you intended it to do!
