We had another marathon conference call last night and continued to iron out the user experience for uencounter.me. It is evolving into something much more interactive and exciting than any of us anticipated in the very beginning. One of the early questions was how younger people would use the site. Its one thing for those of us who’ve lived a bit of life and have a history of encounters with others but my adult children thought the idea was rather static. Since that time, some of our brainstorming sessions have focused on capturing a part of the younger markets as well as the primary demographic we are targeting. Last night we hit on a couple of ideas that may generate specific interest all around. Remember that white water rafting trip you went on with some buddies in college? They are all dispersed and unable to go again but you want to go with someone who has run that river before. At uencounter.me, you will be able to connect with other people who have been there and may want to go again. This same concept will apply to almost any activity or adventure you can think of – ready to make connections and/or new friends based on your interest or hobby?
Some of the elements we are adding may mean that our Beta test is pushed back a week or two (why am I not surprised?). In either case, we intend to continue to add features that are ‘phase II’ for us and tweek what we have based on Beta testing input. I read a great quote last week: “without pressure – there will be no diamonds!” I am not feeling a ton of pressure at this point, but know that even when it comes; it will only mean that uencounter.me has potential to be a ‘diamond’. For now, I am considering it a ‘diamond in the rough’!
